Cool photo wall project DONE – A bit of DIY

I’ve been wanting to display our precious family photos for quite some time now. Now that we are moving into a bigger place at the end of the month, I REALLY want a special photo wall, filled with memories. I didn’t want something that would cost THOUSANDS of Rands and I wanted amateur pics, not professional. So on I went to dear Mr Google and searched, and searched, and searched and EVENTUALLY came across a blog post by Fabulously Frugal – check it out here.

I loved this idea, cost effective, seemed simple enough and I loved the clean lines.

I took both Damien and my phones and created an Instagram account (nope, I never had one) and uploaded 60 of our photo memories. I had the photos printed by Nifty 250 – can recommend them, great service! All 60 pictures cost me R275 to print, including delivery.

I then searched for BLACK FOAM BOARD (not easy to find) and came across an awesome company – Artboard who also delivered to me. The board please delivery was R250. PS- Measure the size you need before ordering. I ordered 1m x 1.5m and it couldn’t even fit in my car, oops, over eager beaver……

I then thought of an extra cool touch and ordered some decal from Sticky things at R200 (free delivery).

It took about 6 hours to complete (not in one sitting), but I must be honest, I am so happy with the end result…… PLEASE let me know your thoughts
